Ngai To (99/UC/Chemistry, 03/PhD in Chemistry) believes that the true value of research lies in addressing society’s needs. From conducting postdoctoral research at a chemical plant in Germany to returning to CUHK as a faculty member and later founding O-Spheres, he has successfully translated research into practical products, earning multiple honours at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva.
“As long as my inventions can benefit society and people can truly make use of them, I feel a great sense of satisfaction. That is also what drives me to keep innovating.” Ngai believes that turning research into real-world applications is never easy. He hopes to leverage innovative technology to improve everyday life and address society’s needs.
