Clara Tong (21/CC/MBChB) is a surgical resident and a former member of the Hong Kong climbing team. Witnessing her father’s recovery from burn injuries in childhood inspired her to pursue medicine . After first trying climbing with her classmates at CUHK, she discovered a strong interest and talent for the sport. From the CUHK climbing team to representing Hong Kong, and from competition wall to the operating theatre, Clara has learned to stay focused and calm under pressure, gradually building her problem-solving and adaptability skills.
She shared how climbing training and surgical training complement each other, helping her grow in both fields.
