Professor Yam Yeung (75/CC/Physics) from the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering wears many important hats, — including Director of the CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute, Master of Lee Woo Sing College, Principal Investigator of the Centre for Perceptual and Interactive Intelligence (CPII), and Principal Investigator of CUHK Jockey Club AI for the Future Project. Despite his heavy workload, he remains quick-minded and energetic.

Professor Yam approaches life with an easygoing mindset and a keen sense of curiosity. His passion for sports has also instilled in him a pragmatic mindset that sees success as the result of both personal effort and effective teamwork.

He looked back on his path—from CUHK to MIT—and how he eventually returned to CUHK to devote himself to research and teaching . He encourages young people  to keep pace with the times, build strong adaptability and resilience, and learn to live in harmony with themselves, others, and nature.
